I love working underwater. Unlike, say, a studio figure study, the more you attempt to control the environment, the more you find that the water is in charge. Gravity loses to buoyancy, and bodies drift despite attempts to remain still. The sun plays randomly on the surface, sending streaks of hot light across the form. Model and photographer both fight the fundamental urge to breath while trying to also remain attentive to the task.I've been working on this series off and on over the past 4 summers, and I think it is sufficiently different from my other work to demand its own portfolio.

Portions of this portfolio were featured in Carrie Leigh's NUDE Magazine, Fall 2009.
